Quarantine Back to School Art

SDG# 2 Zero Hunger-Food Art
In two weeks time school will start up again and unfortunately for many of us around the world, this looks likely to be starting a fresh school year online. Having recently moved to Vietnam (which is under very strict lock down) I have started to wonder about what fun and engaging activities I can create with my students from home. Given that most students don't have access to a wide range of art supplies, it is really important to think about common objects and resources that most students will have at home.
During online learning in China I discovered the wonderful Canadian artist Lauren Purnell who is lives in London and creates incredible art using food scraps!
In my previous school we'd had a highly successful push towards reducing our school's food waste and this had really inspired me to think outside the box. I will be creating a fun Art Choices Board for my new class and will make sure food art is high on our list! Here are some resources you can use to make your own food art and remember the aim is to use food scraps you would be throwing out already, or to make your art and then eat it!
